I finally arrived at this point. Time to finish the book and get it into print. Which means that I will finally get a physical game. Well it also means I'm having to do the book of standards again. The idea is to keep the look and feel from the first game but, but make sure it's up to the new "standards".

So the question stands...

The thing is. Both options would be the same, the only difference is that the finished book, no matter what, will have the same PDF as basis. The PDF itself uses colours. Which means that no matter what, you can always just print out the pdf yourself. Unless you want a "professional" book with the covers being mine as well.

Which brings me to the basic idea. The PDF will only be a basic book block. Nothing special, no covers, nothing. The same thing you'd get as a html file once you purchase it. Why? Sorry but I want the book to be in formats that are easy to use but also not tied to the PDF thing... Which in my opinion should only be used for printing, nothing else.

Now the design of the DOMAIINS Horror Experience, will most likely follow how the original Domains Horror Roleplaying System looked. But "updated" to feel like the new edition and to feel like a new start. Plus a bit of boisterous: I think I figured out some things.

Black, Blue, Red will once again be dominant colours, working as a bit more... Based system with the art and flow of the page following the book itself. I'll see how the illustrations would work, as I intend to illustrate everything myself this time. Expect at LEAST ONE image of cutesy hand drawn dice!

The biggest issue is typefaces and prepping the general layout, mainly as this will be my first time working with such a small format. 108×175mm... Pocket sized. Which reflects my thoughts on games like these. They should be small, portable, and easily used at the table, instead of overglorified kitchen counters.

This will also be reflected in the way that the rules are laid out. More casual, readable format, compared to what I have done before. Decreasing the number of tables in the actual book, and leaving a reference table and other such things at the back for easy lookup during the game.

This is the initial post, more to follow as I work on the final product. With due time I will release the full playtest document. The timetable is to have the digital and physical releases ready for purchase on 1.9.2026.
